To see if Feeder is down, open status.feeder.co. It shows whether the website, the apps and feed updates are working, and we post updates there while we fix a problem. If Feeder fails on all your devices at once, the problem is most likely ours, not yours.
How do I check if Feeder is down?
- Open status.feeder.co. It runs separately from Feeder, so it loads even when Feeder doesn't.
- The banner at the top says whether we know of a problem right now.
- Below it, each part of Feeder has its own row with its recent uptime. If there's an incident, open it to read our latest update.
The page shows the problems we know about. If Feeder isn't working for you but the page says everything is fine, e-mail us. You may be the first to notice.
What does an outage look like?
| You see | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| "Oops! We're very busy right now." | Feeder's servers can't answer. Reload in a minute. |
| "Oops! Something went wrong." and "Feeder is experiencing technical issues." | The web app couldn't load. Reload. Both pages have a Status page button. |
| Unread counts next to your feeds, but "Post list is empty" or "No posts match your filters" in every feed | Feeder can't load your posts right now. They show up again when the problem is fixed. |
| Endless loading on the web, in the extension and in the app | Feeder is slow or down. |
| No new posts in any feed for hours | Feed updates may be delayed. |
Is it Feeder or just one feed?
- Every feed is empty, or Feeder won't load anywhere: the problem is ours. Check the status page.
- One feed turns red or stops getting posts: the problem is usually that feed's website. See Why a feed stops updating or turns red.
- One feed says "No posts match your filters": a filter hides its posts. Select Active filters above the post list to change it.
- Only one browser or device fails: the problem is on that device. If the extension keeps loading, see Help! It just keeps on loading.
What should I try?
- Check status.feeder.co.
- Reload the page, or close and reopen the app.
- If the status page shows a problem, wait for the update that says it's resolved, then reload. You don't need to remove and add your feeds again.
- If it shows no problem, try Feeder on another device. If it works there, restart the browser or app that fails.
How do I get told when Feeder is down?
- On status.feeder.co, select Subscribe to updates.
- Enter your e-mail address and select Subscribe.
- Confirm with the link in the e-mail you get. Updates start after that.
We then e-mail you when we post about a problem and when it's fixed. Every e-mail has a link to unsubscribe. To inform a whole team, subscribe a shared address, such as a team distribution list, and have someone who reads it click the confirmation link.
The status page also has an RSS feed. If you follow it in Feeder, though, it can't reach you while Feeder is down, so e-mail is the safer choice.
When should I e-mail support?
E-mail us when Feeder fails in more than one browser or device and the status page shows no problem, or when something still doesn't work after an incident is resolved. Tell us what you see (a screenshot helps), where (web, extension, iPhone or Android), when it started, and your account's e-mail.
Common questions
Will I miss posts from the time Feeder was down?
Usually not. When updates resume, Feeder checks your feeds again and adds the posts that are still in each feed. A feed that lists only its latest few posts can drop some during a long outage.
Still stuck? E-mail support@feeder.co with a screenshot of what you see, and we'll take a look.
