Feeds missing after sign-up, an update or a new browser

Updated September 27, 2026 4 min read

Your feeds are usually still there. Feeds you add in the browser extension without an account live only in that browser, and feeds in your account show up only when you're logged in to that same account. Find your case below.

Where does Feeder keep my feeds?

How you use FeederWhere your feeds are
The browser extension, without an accountIn that browser only. Nothing is sent to Feeder, so the feeds don't sync, and removing the extension deletes them.
With a Feeder account, on the web, in the extension or in the appsIn your account on Feeder's servers. Log in to the same account anywhere to see them.

To check, select Account in the left sidebar. It shows the e-mail you're logged in with, or Logged out.

I created an account and my extension feeds are gone

Signing up from the extension copies its feeds into your new account. If they don't show up, reload the page or reopen the extension first. Still missing?

  1. In the browser that has the extension, open feeder.co/connect?flow=ext and log in if asked.
  2. If Feeder asks to connect, select Yes, connect & continue.
  3. At Add missing feeds?, leave the box ticked and select Start syncing.

If you see We couldn't reach the extension, turn the extension on, use a normal window instead of a private one, and select Try connecting again.

If that doesn't work, move the feeds with a file:

  1. Select Account, then Log out, and choose Logout and disconnect extension. The extension goes back to the feeds it had before you logged in.
  2. Open feeder.co/reader or the extension, select Library, open the Import & Export tab and select Export to OPML.
  3. Log in again. In the same tab, select Import from file and choose the file. Feeds you already follow aren't added twice.

My feeds disappeared after an extension update

  • You have an account: if Account says Logged out, log in again the way you signed up, with your e-mail, Google or Apple. Your feeds come back with your account. See Can't log in to Feeder?
  • You used the extension without an account: if it asked you to sign up, follow the steps above in the same browser, because the old feeds may still be in it. If the extension's data is gone, we can't restore it, because it was never sent to Feeder. If you exported an OPML file before, import it.

I'm on a new computer or browser

  • With an account: open feeder.co or install the extension, and log in with the same account.
  • Without an account: your feeds are still in the old browser. Create an account from the extension there, which moves the feeds into it, then log in on the new one. Or export an OPML file there and import it in the new browser.

My browser turned the extension off

Turn it back on in your browser's extensions page, such as chrome://extensions, or brave://extensions in Brave. Feeds kept without an account stay while the extension is turned off, but removing the extension deletes them. Once it's back, create an account so your feeds are saved outside the browser. See Feeder in Brave, Vivaldi and other browsers.

Can I get back feeds I deleted?

Feeder has no undo. If you deleted feeds from your account by mistake, e-mail support soon and we'll check what we can recover. Folders, rules and which posts you read or starred can't be brought back. Feeds deleted in the extension without an account can't be restored. To be safe, export your feeds to OPML now and then.

A feed I removed still shows posts or unread counts

If it started after you created an account, try the connect steps above: the feed may still be in the extension. Otherwise, e-mail support with the feed's name. It's usually stuck outside your folders, and we can remove it for you.

Still stuck? E-mail support@feeder.co with your account's e-mail and whether you used the extension without an account. We'll look for your feeds.
