Feeder uses AI in a few optional places: post summaries, translations, audio narration and AI feeds. You can turn each one off in Settings, AI, and Feeder then hides it. Free includes 2 summaries a day and 3 AI feeds.
What AI features does Feeder have?

Daily counts start over each day. When you reach a limit, Feeder shows the upgrade options. Plus is $7.99 a month billed yearly, and Professional is $14.99 per user a month billed yearly. Enterprise has higher limits. More about AI feeds in How to follow a website without an RSS feed.
How do I turn AI features off?
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Choose AI.
- Under AI features, turn off AI feeds, Post summaries, Translations or Audio narration.
Feeder hides the buttons for what you turn off. The setting belongs to your account, so it also applies in the extension and the apps. With AI feeds off, Add feed stops offering AI feeds, and AI feeds you already follow stay until you delete them.
To stop translating completely, also set Auto-translate posts to Don't auto-translate (see below), and delete any rule that uses Translate posts.
How do translations work?
- One post: click Translate post. Click Show original to switch back.
- Every new post: open Settings, Appearance and pick a language under Auto-translate posts. Feeder translates post titles and excerpts as they arrive.
- Only some posts: create a rule with the Translate posts action to translate only the posts that match.
Every translated post counts toward your daily limit. Translating posts is not the same as changing the language of Feeder's menus: see Change the language of Feeder.
What does Feeder send to AI providers?
Feeder sends the content a feature works on, when that feature runs:
- Summaries, translations and audio: the text of the post.
- AI feeds: the web page Feeder turns into a feed.
- Feeder's AI assistant, which opens from Let AI find feeds for you on the Add feed page: your conversation with it.
MCP works the other way around: the assistant you connect reads your feeds through Feeder, under that assistant's own terms. You can disconnect it at any time.
Common questions
Why is the summary or translate button missing?
It's probably turned off. Open Settings, AI and switch it back on.
I turned everything off. Why do I still see AI?
An AI feed you follow keeps its lightbulb badge until you delete the feed. Let AI find feeds for you on the Add feed page, and Set up with AI, which some new accounts see in the sidebar in their first two days, only run when you click them.
