Click Account at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Email and password. Enter the new address under Change email, then click the link Feeder sends to it. Nothing changes until you confirm, and your feeds and plan stay as they are.
How do I change my e-mail address?
- Log in at feeder.co, click Account at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Email and password. The direct link is feeder.co/settings/account.
- Under Change email, fill in New email and Repeat new email, then click Update email.
- In your new inbox, open "Confirm your new Feeder email" and click Confirm this email. On the page that opens, click Confirm this email again.
When you see Your email is updated, log in with the new address from then on. The link works for 24 hours. Until you click it, the page says Waiting for confirmation, and Cancel change stops the change.
Feeder also writes to your old address: "Your Feeder account email was changed". If you didn't make the change, click This wasn't me in that e-mail. Feeder moves the account back to your old address and locks it until you contact us.
What does "That email has an account already" mean?
Another Feeder account already uses that address. Often it's one made by mistake, for example with Log in with Google. Two accounts can't share an address, so free it up first:
- Log out, then log in to the other account. If you don't know its password, reset it at feeder.co/forgot.
- If it has feeds you want to keep, export them: see Import and export your feeds with OPML.
- Delete that account.
- Log in to your main account and change the e-mail again.
I can't open my old e-mail anymore
You don't need it. The confirmation goes to your new address. If you're logged out everywhere, see Can't log in to Feeder?
How do I change my password?
- In Account, Email and password, go to Change password.
- Fill in Current password, New password and Confirm new password, then click Update password.
Signed up with Google or Apple? You never chose a password. Click Logged in with Google? Generate a password here., enter your e-mail, and Feeder sends you a link to create one.
Common questions
I didn't get the confirmation e-mail
Check your spam folder for "Confirm your new Feeder email". If it isn't there, click Cancel change and try again. After several tries in one hour, Feeder asks you to wait a little.
Does my password change too?
No. Only the address changes. Your password, feeds and plan stay the same.
I log in with Google or Apple. Can I change my e-mail?
Yes, but create a password first. Log in with Google and Log in with Apple find your Feeder account by the e-mail that Google or Apple sends. After you change the address, they don't find your account anymore and make a new, empty one. So before you change it, create a password as shown above. From then on, log in with your new e-mail and that password.
If you chose Hide My Email when you signed up with Apple, your Feeder address ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com. The same steps apply.
