CNN RSS feeds list: what still works and what stopped

CNN's RSS feeds at rss.cnn.com still load, but none of them has had a new story since 2024. The newest story we found in them is from August 22, 2024. You can still follow CNN in an RSS reader: below are Google News feeds that list only CNN stories, CNN's podcast feeds and CNN feeds in other languages, all checked on September 28, 2026.

Do CNN RSS feeds still work?

No. CNN published its feeds at addresses like http://rss.cnn.com/rss/edition.rss and http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss. They still answer, so your reader shows no error, but they show the same old stories. This is the newest story in each of the best-known ones today:

The https:// versions, like https://rss.cnn.com/rss/edition.rss, don't load at all, and CNN's old RSS page, cnn.com/services/rss, now opens the CNN homepage. CNN hasn't said why the feeds stopped. How do I follow CNN with RSS today?

Use a Google News feed. Google News has a feed for any search, and site:cnn.com limits it to CNN stories.

• Headlines, not full articles. Each item has the headline and a link that opens the story on cnn.com through Google News.
• Up to 100 stories per feed. when:24h keeps a busy feed to the past day. Quieter sections use when:7d, so the feed isn't empty when you add it.
• A short delay. A story shows up once Google News has found it.

Why is there no CNN World, Health or Sports feed?

Google News can't pick those out. A CNN story's address starts with the date, like cnn.com/2026/09/28/world/..., so site:cnn.com/world finds only the section's front page. A plain word doesn't help either: CNN's menus and links mention world, health and sports on almost every page, so site:cnn.com health lists nearly every CNN story. The Politics, Business, Travel and Style feeds work because those stories carry the section's name, like CNN Politics.

For those sections, make a custom feed from the section page, as shown below. To follow one subject, search CNN headlines with intitle:, like site:cnn.com intitle:Ukraine. In Feeder, type it under Add feed, Web monitoring, Google News. Google News RSS feeds explains the other search operators.

Can I make a custom RSS feed from a CNN page?

Yes, and CNN pages work well for it. Paste the address of a CNN section, like https://www.cnn.com/world or https://www.cnn.com/health, into Add feed and choose Create a custom RSS feed for this website. Is there a CNN top stories RSS feed?

Not from CNN anymore. The All CNN news feed above lists every CNN story from the past day. For a short pick of the day's news, CNN 5 Things is a daily podcast with its own feed.

Why did CNN stop its RSS feeds?

CNN hasn't given a reason. Its feeds stopped getting new stories one by one, most of them in 2023 and 2024.
