The Hindu RSS feeds: full list of feed URLs by section

Updated October 3, 2026 4 min read

The Hindu's main RSS feed is https://www.thehindu.com/feeder/default.rss, and its national news feed is https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/feeder/default.rss. The Hindu has free feeds for each of its sections, the southern states and 15 cities. Below are 79 feeds from The Hindu that work, checked on October 3, 2026. Click a feed's name to add it to Feeder, or copy its URL into any RSS reader.

What is The Hindu RSS feed URL?

For the latest stories from every section, use the Home feed:

FeedFeed URL
The Hindu: Homehttps://www.thehindu.com/feeder/default.rss

Each item has the headline, a one-sentence summary and a link to the full story on thehindu.com, and most have a picture. The Home feed holds only the 60 newest stories. Both times we checked, that was less than three hours of news, so a reader that checks it less often can miss stories. Section feeds move more slowly.

Every section feed follows the same pattern: the section's address with feeder/default.rss at the end. The Hindu lists its main feeds on its official RSS page, thehindu.com/rssfeeds. The tables below include those, plus state, city and sci-tech feeds that work but aren't on that page.

Do the old The Hindu feed addresses still work?

Mostly, yes. The Hindu's older addresses end in ?service=rss, like http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/?service=rss. They forward to the secure address and list the same stories as the feeds above. In Feeder, 480 of the 491 follows of The Hindu feeds are on feeds that still get new stories.

A few sections have moved, and their old feeds stopped:

  • Health: http://www.thehindu.com/health/?service=rss now says page not found. Use the Health feed above.
  • Magazine and Friday Review: features/magazine/?service=rss and features/friday-review/?service=rss now open topic pages, which aren't feeds.

If a feed in your reader has gone quiet, Why a feed stops updating explains the usual causes.

How do I follow The Hindu in Feeder?

  1. Select Add feed.
  2. Paste the address of a section of The Hindu, like https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/, or a feed URL from the tables above. Press Enter.
  3. Select Follow.

Each section page on thehindu.com points to its own feed, so Feeder finds the right one from the page address. If you follow many sections, put them in a folder so they read as one stream. To keep only the stories that mention a word, like a team or a company, filter the feed by keyword.
