AP News RSS feeds: the Associated Press feeds that work

Updated October 5, 2026 6 min read

The Associated Press's own feeds on apnews.com stopped working in feed readers in 2024. Use AP's feeds on Flipboard instead, like Top Stories at https://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/top-stories-u7govdf1z.rss, or a Google News feed of every AP story: https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=when:24h+site:apnews.com&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en. Below are 17 AP feeds that work, by section, in Spanish and for video, all checked on October 5, 2026. Click a feed's name to add it to Feeder, or copy its URL into any RSS reader.

What is the AP News RSS feed URL?

FeedWhat you getFeed URL
AP Top StoriesAP's pick of the top stories, from AP's own Flipboard account.https://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/top-stories-u7govdf1z.rss
All AP news, via Google NewsEvery AP story from the past 24 hours that Google News has found, up to 100.https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=when:24h+site:apnews.com&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en
Everything AP shares on FlipboardThe 30 newest stories AP has added to any of its Flipboard magazines.https://flipboard.com/@AssociatedPress.rss

AP runs the Flipboard feeds itself. Its Flipboard account is verified as a publisher, and it files AP stories into a magazine for each main section. Each item has the headline, the first lines of the story and a link straight to apnews.com. A magazine holds AP's picks, not every story: Top Stories had 29 stories from October 1 to 3 when we checked.

The Google News feed is the fuller one. It had 100 AP stories from the past 24 hours when we checked. Each item has the headline only, and the link opens the story through Google News. Google News RSS feeds explains how these feeds work.

AP News RSS feeds by section

Each of AP's Flipboard magazines has its own feed with the 29 newest stories AP added to it:

FeedFeed URL
U.S. Newshttps://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/u.s.-news-lhl4uphvz.rss
International Newshttps://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/international-news-miluvhmaz.rss

Be Well (health and wellness)https://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/be-well-re5fuie4z.rss

Sportshttps://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/sports-uv5v9mtcz.rss
Asiahttps://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/asia-c2h6qh4lz.rss

AP's Science magazine on Flipboard is empty, and its AP News Videos magazine has had nothing new since February 2023, so neither is listed. Google News can't fill the gap here: every AP story address starts with apnews.com/article/, so a search can't pick out one section the way it can for Reuters.

How do I follow a topic on AP News?

Search Google News for AP stories with your word in the headline. In Feeder, select Add feed, choose Google News under Web monitoring, and search for site:apnews.com intitle:Ukraine. In another reader, use https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=when:7d+site:apnews.com+intitle:Ukraine&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en and swap in your own word. When we checked, that feed had 10 AP stories from the past week with Ukraine in the headline.

To follow a whole AP page, like its Politics page or a hub of stories on one subject, paste https://apnews.com/politics into Add feed and choose Create a custom RSS feed for this website. You pick the headlines on the page, and Feeder checks it for new ones. Custom feeds are part of Feeder Plus. How to follow a website without an RSS feed shows each step.

AP pages work well for this. Feeder users follow 52 working custom feeds made from apnews.com pages, and 38 of them had new stories in the past week. The most followed ones watch AP's homepage and its Top News and U.S. News pages.

Is there an AP News RSS feed in Spanish?

AP publishes its Spanish-language stories on apnews.com too, and a Google News search in Spanish lists them:

AP en español, via Google NewsAP stories in Spanish from the past 24 hours.https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=when:24h+site:apnews.com&hl=es-419&gl=US&ceid=US:es-419

It had more than 70 stories from the past 24 hours when we checked, all of them in Spanish.

Which AP RSS feeds stopped?

  • apnews.com feeds, like https://apnews.com/index.rss, https://apnews.com/world-news.rss and https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-news.rss, stopped in 2024. The newest story Feeder got from any of them is from July 10, 2024. AP's robots.txt file asks automated tools to stay away from every .rss address on apnews.com, and when we checked, apnews.com answered them with a bot check page instead of a feed. 35 Feeder users still follow old apnews.com feeds, 16 of them index.rss.
  • hosted.ap.org and customwire.ap.org feeds, like AP's old top headlines feed, stopped in May 2018. The apnews.com/atom/APDEFAULT/ feeds stopped in June 2018.
  • feedx.net/rss/ap.xml, a feed made by a third-party site, is the most followed AP feed in Feeder, with 408 followers. It still loads, but its newest story is from September 9, 2026.
  • RSSHub feeds for AP, like https://rsshub.app/apnews/topics/apf-topnews, haven't worked in Feeder since December 22, 2025. 37 Feeder users follow that one, and 27 more its http:// version.

AP does deliver its stories to software through its Media API, but that needs an API key from AP. If an AP feed in your reader has gone quiet, swap it for Top Stories or the Google News feed above. Why a feed stops updating explains the other common causes.

How do I follow AP News in Feeder?

  1. Click a feed's name on this page. Feeder opens Add feed with the feed's address filled in.
  2. Or select Add feed yourself, paste a feed URL, like https://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/top-stories-u7govdf1z.rss, and press Enter.
  3. Select Follow. The button changes to Following.

AP's e-mail newsletters can arrive in Feeder too: subscribe with your Feeder newsletter address. Read your e-mail newsletters in Feeder shows where to find it.

Common questions

Is there an official AP News RSS feed?

Not one that works in a feed reader: AP's apnews.com feeds stopped in 2024. The closest are the Flipboard feeds on this page: AP's verified Flipboard account publishes them, and every item links to apnews.com. The Google News feeds come from Google, not from AP.

What is the Associated Press top news RSS feed?

https://flipboard.com/@associatedpress/top-stories-u7govdf1z.rss. The old https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-news.rss and the RSSHub apf-topnews feed no longer work.

Why did my AP News RSS feed stop working?

It is most likely an apnews.com address, which stopped in 2024, or a third-party feed like feedx.net, which stopped on September 9, 2026. Swap it for a feed on this page.

Are AP News RSS feeds free?

Yes. The Flipboard and Google News feeds are free, and you don't need an account to follow them.
