Feeder is an RSS reader with AI summaries on every plan. Click the lightbulb on any post, and Feeder writes a short summary in bullet points, in your language. The free plan includes 2 summaries a day, Plus 10 and Professional 60. Inoreader, Feedly, NewsBlur and Readwise Reader keep their AI features on paid plans.
How do AI summaries work in Feeder?
- Open a post, or find it in your post list.
- Click the lightbulb icon: in the toolbar above the open post, or next to the post in the list.
- The summary opens in a window: a few bullet points with the main ideas, and a short conclusion that ties them together.
Summaries come from the post's text or from the full article on the website. They're written in the language you use Feeder in, even when the post is in another language, and the iPhone and Android apps have them too.
Like anything an AI writes, a summary can miss a detail or get one wrong. Open the post before you quote it.
How many AI summaries do you get?
Summaries are counted per day, and the count starts over every day. When you reach the limit, Feeder shows you the plans with more. The other AI features have their own daily limits:
| Free | Plus | Professional | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | $7.99 a month billed yearly, or $9.99 monthly | $14.99 per user a month billed yearly, or $19.99 monthly |
| AI summaries | 2 a day | 10 a day | 60 a day |
| Translate post | Not included | 10 a day | 5,000 a day, plus Auto-translate posts for whole feeds |
| Listen to article (Beta) | Not included | Not included | 5 a day |
| Connect an AI assistant (MCP) | Not included | Included | Included |
What else can AI do in Feeder?
- Translate posts. Translate post shows a post in your language. On Plus, a rule can also translate matching posts as they arrive.
- Find feeds. On the Add feed page, Let AI find feeds for you suggests feeds from a short description of what you want to read.
- Follow sites that have no feed. When a site has no RSS feed, Create AI feed builds one from the page. How to add an RSS feed or website to Feeder explains AI feeds and their limits.
- Summaries in Microsoft Teams. A Post to Microsoft Teams rule can Include an AI summary with each post, so your team reads the gist in the channel. Posting to Teams needs Professional.
Rather not use AI? Open Settings, select AI, and turn off AI feeds, Post summaries, Translations or Audio narration. Feeder then stops showing them.
Can I use ChatGPT or Claude with my RSS feeds?
Yes. Feeder's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients read your feeds, search your posts and manage your collections, so you can ask your assistant about what your feeds published. It needs Feeder Plus or Professional. In Claude and ChatGPT, custom connectors are a paid feature. Connect Feeder to your AI assistant with MCP has the steps.
Which other RSS readers have AI features?
Each reader uses AI for something different. Inoreader's Pro plan covers the most ground, from summaries to transcripts, and lets you pick the AI provider. Feedly uses it to track topics and mute noise, and Readwise Reader to answer questions about what you read. Prices in US dollars from each company's website, September 27, 2026:
| Reader | AI features | Plan and price |
|---|---|---|
| Feeder | Post summaries, translations, AI feeds for sites without RSS and AI feed suggestions. Audio on Professional. An MCP server for AI assistants | Summaries on every plan: 2 a day free, 10 on Plus ($7.99 a month billed yearly), 60 on Professional |
