What is Feedly?
Feedly is an RSS reader for the web, iOS and Android. It has a free plan and three paid plans: Pro, Pro+ and Enterprise. Pro+ adds Feedly AI, with AI Feeds and filters that mute the noise. Enterprise adds team feeds and intelligence tools for businesses, such as threat and market intelligence.
What is Feedbin?
Feedbin is a paid RSS reader from San Francisco, "delivering feeds since 2013" and made by a developer and a designer. It has one plan, with no tiers and no add-ons. Along with websites, it follows e-mail newsletters, podcasts, YouTube channels and playlists, and Mastodon. Its code is open source under the MIT license, and its API is public.

Which is cheaper, Feedly or Feedbin?
Feedbin, by a little, once you pay. Billed yearly, Feedbin is $70 and Feedly Pro is $72. Billed monthly, Feedbin is $7 and Feedly Pro is $8. The gap grows if you read newsletters: Feedbin includes them, while on Feedly they need Pro+, at $144 a year ($99 for the first year when we checked).
Feedly costs less only if its free plan is enough for you.
Do Feedly and Feedbin send notifications?
Feedbin can. Its Actions can send you a push notification, star posts or mark them as read. Feedly's help center says it has no in-app or e-mail notifications for new articles, and it suggests Zapier or IFTTT instead.
How soon a new post reaches you also depends on how often the reader checks the feed. Feedly publishes its numbers: every 15 to 60 minutes on Pro, and as often as every 7 minutes on Pro+ and Enterprise. Feedbin doesn't publish how often it checks.
Which apps can I read Feedly and Feedbin in?
Feedly makes its own apps for the web, iOS and Android. NetNewsWire and Reeder Classic can also use Feedly as their sync service.
Feedbin has a web app and its own app for iPhone and iPad. It also works as the sync service behind many third-party apps: NetNewsWire, Reeder Classic, Unread, ReadKit and Fiery Feeds on Apple devices, and Capy Reader, FeedMe and FocusReader on Android. If you already have a favorite app, that alone may decide it.
Can Feedly and Feedbin follow newsletters, podcasts and YouTube?
Feedbin includes all three in its one plan, and it gives you your own e-mail address for newsletters. For podcasts on iPhone and iPad, it also makes Airshow, a separate podcast app. On Feedly, newsletters (up to 50) and Google News feeds need Pro+, and so does RSS Builder, which makes feeds for sites that have none.
When Feedly is the better choice
- You want to start free. 100 feeds in 3 folders cost nothing, with sponsored ads.
- You want AI to do some of the sorting. Pro+ adds AI Feeds, mute filters and deduplication with Feedly AI, for $144 a year.
- You read on Android and want the reader's own app. Feedly makes apps for iOS and Android. Feedbin's own app is for iPhone and iPad, so on Android you use a third-party app.
- You mark up what you read. Pro adds notes and highlights and saves to Evernote and OneNote, for $6 a month billed yearly.
- Your company needs more. Enterprise adds team feeds and boards, Slack and Microsoft Teams, single sign-on, API access, and threat or market intelligence. The price is on request.
When Feedbin is the better choice
- You want a quiet reader and are happy to pay for it. One plan, $7 a month or $70 a year, with no ads and no tracking.
- You read newsletters, podcasts and YouTube too. They are all in the one plan, with no upgrade to buy.
- You want a push notification for the posts that matter. Actions can send one.
- You want to choose your own app. Feedbin syncs with a long list of apps on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.
- Your feeds only send summaries. Feedbin can fetch the full text of the article.

How do I export my feeds from Feedly?
