To send a newsletter, select Publish in the left sidebar, then Newsletters, and select New newsletter. Pick the folder to send posts from, and Feeder drafts the first email from its newest posts. Edit it, send yourself a test, then send it. Newsletters are part of the Professional and Enterprise plans.
How do I create a newsletter?
- Select Publish in the left sidebar, then Newsletters.
- Select New newsletter.
- Under Send posts from, choose All my feeds or one of your folders.
- Type a Name. Readers see it as the sender, and you can change it later.
- Select Create and draft the first email. Feeder opens the editor with a draft made by AI.
In a team, you can also tick Send it to my team too. Your team then gets the newsletter without confirming.
How do I write an email?
- Draft with AI picks the posts worth featuring and writes the subject and intro. Under Pull posts from, choose all feeds, a folder or one feed. Add a Focus if you like, such as "lead with the AI news, skip sports".
- Add blocks from the left: Post, Feed, AI summary, Text, Heading, Image, Button and Divider.
- Select Save draft to come back to it later.
What does the AI draft read?
For each post, the AI gets the headline, a short excerpt from the feed and the feed's name. It doesn't read the full articles. It picks from the 40 newest posts, and post blocks always show the real post's title, link and image. Feeds with headlines only, such as Google News searches, give the AI little to go on, so plan to write more of the intro yourself.
Each Draft with AI, each Generate summary in an AI summary block and each weekly draft uses one of your daily AI summaries: 60 a day on Professional and 200 on Enterprise. If you run out, a weekly draft is still made, from the 5 newest posts and without AI. See AI features in Feeder.
How do I add recipients?
On the newsletter's page, under Recipients:
- Add one email address at a time.
- In the options menu, Paste addresses... adds many at once, one per line or separated by commas.
- Add your team adds everyone in your team.
- Export CSV downloads the list, with each address, its status and the date it was added.
You and your team join right away. Anyone else confirms by email first and shows as Waiting to confirm until they do. If people you pasted are still waiting, open the options menu and choose the option to ask them to confirm again, such as Ask 2 people to confirm again. Feeder then sends them the confirmation email.
How many recipients can I have?
Up to 100 on Professional and 1,000 on Enterprise, counted across all your newsletters. Someone on two of your newsletters counts twice. People who are waiting to confirm, unsubscribed or bounced count too, so Remove the ones you don't need. Your own address takes one place. There is no limit on how many newsletters you make.
How do I send or schedule it?
- Select Preview & send to see the email on desktop and mobile.
- Select Send test to me. Only you get it, with [Test] in front of the subject.
- Select Send, or Send later to pick a date and time in the next 60 days.
To send every week, select Every week... on the newsletter's page. Pick the folder, the day and the time. Under Then, choose whether Feeder emails you the draft to look over or sends it by itself. A weekly draft uses the posts since your last email. When there are none, Feeder drafts nothing that week.
What do my readers see?
- The email shows your newsletter's name as the sender. Under Sender and look, set Replies go to, or replies go to whoever sent the email.
- Also under Sender and look: a title at the top of each email, a line under it, your logo and your colors.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops that one newsletter.
- Addresses that bounce or mark an email as spam stop getting your newsletters.
The Sent list shows opens and clicks for each email. Company mail systems often check links before people read, so these numbers read high.
Common questions
Which plans include newsletters?
Professional and Enterprise. If you move to a plan without newsletters, your lists stay, but you can't send to them or change them until you upgrade again.
Can I delete a newsletter?
You can delete a newsletter until it has sent an email. After that you can still delete its drafts.
Still stuck? Email support@feeder.co and tell us what you want to send, and we'll help.
