To share a feed, folder or collection, a Team Admin adds it to a workspace, and everyone in that workspace sees it in their sidebar. Rules and filters stay personal, so each teammate needs their own copy.
How do I share a feed or folder?
- Click Team in the left sidebar and click the workspace you want to share with.
- Open the Feeds tab and click Add.
- Choose Add feed and paste the site or feed address, or choose Add folder to make a shared folder.
To share with the whole team, use the default workspace, which every member joins. Not a Team Admin? You'll see Managed by your Team Admin, so ask your admin. More in Workspaces: choose what each group on your team sees.
How do I share a collection?
On the workspace's Feeds tab, click Add, then Add collection, and pick the collection. Members see it in the workspace like a feed, and posts you add to it show up for them. See Organize content with collections.
Do my Rules apply to my teammates?
No. Rules that filter, star, mark as read or highlight posts change only what you see, even on a shared feed. Your teammates see every post unless they have their own rule.
Rules that act outside your reader are different. A rule that posts to Slack or adds posts to a shared collection works for the whole team, and teammates can see it on their Rules page. More about Rules in Rules.
How do I copy a teammate's rule?
- Right-click the feed in the sidebar and choose Edit feed.
- Open the Rules tab. Your teammates' rules for this feed are under Rules your teammates have for this feed.
- Click Copy rule, check the new rule and save it.
The copy has the same keywords and points at your own copy of the feed. A rule set on a folder doesn't bring the folder along, so choose yours again. Only Team Admins can open Edit feed on a workspace feed. Setting up a new member with many rules? E-mail support@feeder.co and we'll help.
What does a new member get?
- Everything in the workspaces they belong to, starting with the default workspace.
- Not your personal feeds, your Rules or your read and unread posts.
- To follow a feed a teammate has, click Add feed, then Team library under More.
Common questions
Can a teammate rename or change a shared feed?
Only Team Admins can edit feeds in a workspace, and their changes show for every member.
Are my notes shared?
Yes. Notes you make in a team are visible to your teammates. To keep one private, open its menu and choose Hide from my team.
